[opensuse-marketing] "openSUSE Linux"

Hi, I was just giving out a few DVDs to some Linux newbies, and one of them asked , "So what is it that is different in openSUSE Linux?" I am not looking for an answer to that here. I am just asking if "openSUSE Linux" is correct usage. I have encountered the phrase in other places too, some email sigs, and visiting cards. We mostly say "openSUSE is a Linux distro...". afaik, "openSUSE Linux is a ..." sounds corny. I'd appreciate an official stance. Koushik, yes, you can say openSUSE Linux or openSUSE, the only part that matters, is the openSUSE. ;) -- ----------------------------------------- Discover it! Enjoy it! don't forget few people know of openSUSE, many about Linux. searching to enhance on the distro name makes us smaller than we are jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://pizzanetti.fr -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

I think it will be a good enhance to associate openSUSE and Linux words regularly because every time people make a search in Google using the Linux word can not find openSUSE until maybe the second or third page behind other less heard distros. So mostly I prefer using both words together (openSUSE+Linux) to emphasize we are Linux too. And nothing remains out ;-)

Please check the http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Talking_points talking points page. It does answer a few of these questions, but more points have to be added. Ask here if it's not complete or helpful (and it probably isn't yet). Anyone with input - please help. We could have a discussion here, maybe Koushnik would then be willing to adapt the talking points page with the results?!?
