[opensuse-marketing] New site launched
Hi All, I just would like to inform the list about the launch of the http://opensuse.hu website. This is a small almost-static website to leads the users to the right place, find resources etc. (same functionality as opensuse.org). best, kalman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

This is great! I like it. How about merging this with www.opensuse.org so that it's really a consistent community effort? :-) We already have a lot of translations on www.o.o, Hungarian not. Hi Henne, I am not sure how can I translate the www.opensuse.org ... but I would translate it. I miss a lot of things from opensuse.org that's why we decided to create something else to opensuse.hu What do you mean merging? best kalman On Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 4:26 PM, Henne Vogelsang <hvogel@opensuse.org> wrote:

Just check out the svn svn.berlios.de/svnroot/repos/opensuse/trunk/infrastructure/www.o.o/ and send a patch to opensuse-web@opensuse.org

I mean discuss with us (also on opensuse-web) what you miss on www.o.o and after we agreed on stuff you implement it for all pages instead of just your own. That way not only you and opensuse.hu get features that you miss and hungarian translation but everybody does. We strive to have a consistent appearance all over the web! :) Henne -- Henne Vogelsang, openSUSE. There is great integration of social networks and such stuff on this page. I find the integration decent and useful. Maybe such integration is on the new bentoo too. br gnokii

- even if I will translate the framework, the news remain in English and it makes Hungarian users confused (same problem with the weekly news translation, I will translate the headlines but behind it there is no localaized content) - twitter and how to follow is missing, facebook and other community stuff (if there are any) - I want a smaller page without too much scrolling but more interaction (I stoled the screenshot idea from opensuse.org and scrolling idea from mozilla.org)... well this is really a jumpstart - link to suse studio is missing to me - - we have a section where users can "order" media (same as Ubuntu ship-it) - in the search section not clear that I can find a package as well - participate section lying down on the bottom of the page and I like to see straight tasks like: * 2000 wiki pages needs to review * 15 JJ bug already opened * 250 string is not translated on your language these are only my opinions... so let me know yours... thanks kalman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

I don't have a detailed opinion about this, i bet people on opensuse-web@opensuse.org have. I only have a strong opinion about you doing your own thing, on your own server, under your own domain, in your own style when the openSUSE Project has its startpage, a server, a domain and a style for it. And this can easily be extended. It can be molded into what you want it to be. You can add features, change the layout, display other things and so on. Please, just instead of spending your time and effort on your own thing engage with the www.o.o people and help to make the frontpage better! You obviously have interest in this :) Henne -- Henne Vogelsang, openSUSE. I have sent a mail to the web list. We will see how far we can go with it. k -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
