[opensuse-marketing] Open Rhein Ruhr Fair and Congress
Hi, There is a newly established Linux event called Open Rhein Ruhr "Ein Pott voll Software" in Bottrop (in the "Ruhrpott") in Germany. http://www.openrheinruhr.de/ It is 7.11.2009 - 8.11.2009. I got asked by one of the organizers if openSUSE could participate in some way. Perhaps we can? :) Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Perhaps we can.
Would you like to head up a booth for that event? Do we have any
information on the event (how many people they expect, are they just
asking for people to man a booth, or asking for talks, or
sponsorship?)
Best,
Zonker

Thats the 1st of this event but I can you say that the people behind the organization well known in the german linux community from this side could be the event successful The organisators had posters on linuxtag and many other events. People talk about to go this event, last weekend I was with Jan Weber to FrOSCon many people there said they go to this event. Marcus said is, the event is in the "Ruhrpott" the most populated area in Germany. I think this event starts with 1.000 participans and established itself between the other main events in Germany. openSUSE should participate on this event. The nearest Ambassador for this event is Sascha. All other Ambassadors must take an long ride and thats the problem. br gnokii

No, my time is very scarce these days :/ I was hoping Ambassadors might find themselves ;)
Do we have any information on the event (how many people they expect, are they just asking for people to man a booth, or asking for talks, or sponsorship?)
I mailed Sven Lankes (one of the organizer who asked me) and received this answer to your questions.: |On Tue, Aug 25, 2009 at 11:51:35AM +0200, Marcus Meissner wrote: | |>> I got asked by one of the organizers if openSUSE could participate in some way. |>> Perhaps we can? :) | |> Perhaps we can. | |> Would you like to head up a booth for that event? The audience is somewhat more targetted at |users (personal as well as professional) and we hope to get a good |number of people who aren't free software users yet. | |While we're also (of course) always looking for more sponsors, this is |not what we're after from the projects. As for talks - the CfP deadline |has already past on Sunday but we could probably still fit a high level |talk on opensuse in if we get a proposal within the next two weeks. | |-- |sven === jabber/xmpp: sven@lankes.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
Hi, as gnokii already said, most Ambassadors would have a long way to the event. I am thinking about it, as almost all other projects at FrOSCon said they will be there and it is the first event i guess it might be good for openSUSE to also be there. Is there any deadline until we have to confirm a booth? And next and even more important point, is there anybody else who might also go there and man the booth, because one person might be a little to less. I will evaluate if there is enough time and money so i can go there. Hi again, i had a short discussion with gnokii and asked some people from another project if they are going. So here is the deal, i will 99 % go there and will take up the organization for our booth, Marcus can you provide contact information? Thomas and gnokii, both also joined for FrOSCon, also think about going there. Any other Ambassadors or volunteers around? Cheers Jan

Thanks, booth is confirmed! I have created a wiki page for coordination, so if you would like to help with the booth, get in touch with me and add yourself to the wiki: http://de.opensuse.org/Veranstaltungen/OpenRheinRuhr/2009 Cheers Jan
