** Reply Requested by 6/26/2010 (Saturday) ** some cents.... I think people will be more interested in participate at Linux Install fest if: - We provide a kind of certification for Install Fest participation - some guys really loves certifications specially the teenagers that are starting their life worker. - If the linux install fest have something different like some speakers, some presentations, Maybe some linux customer testimonial instead of only provide help to install linux distro - Any support from local University or Government - have install fest inside major events. - make install Fest happing in remote location instead of big cities could be helpful. Because for big cities Maybe install Fest are not so useful because they are having this at least for long 10 years as pointed by jdd, But for small cities could be more attractive to the attendants because they had never had a install fest party. - Maybe we can start to announce install Fest as part of some opensuse small meetings around the globe And not just install fest itself. - If we develop a kind of openSUSE certification for desktop users this certifications could be showed as workshops during install Fest. - Maybe if we do linux install fest ALWAYS together with some company that use openSUSE at their environment. - Linux Install fest for specific verticals like - linux install Fest for retail, linux install fest for academies, linux install fest for Government, linux install fest for financial institutions. - yeah yeah, I known that this could be difficult for us to understand - because SUSE is always SUSE, But if we announce or even focus that party for a specific public our results could be little different - I'm not sure if better or worst because I've never try But what I mean is that this point could be part of a brainstorm about the topic. at least, beautiful ladies always help to bring people to the parties, or not? jdd <jdd@dodin.org> 26 Junho, 2010 >>> I just come from a Mandriva Install fest. Pretty well annouce (including in a free news paper, 300.000 ex), in the center of a big town (Toulouse, France).
6 animators... 0 attendent. clearly, today, installing a linux distro do not require somebody to come somewhere. Having the very last Distro is not interesting either so what? I'm short of ideas... jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://www.facebook.com/pages/I-support-the-Linux-Documentation-Project/3720... http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-fan-page-of-Claire-Dodin/106485119372062?v... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
