Hi Bryen,
To the question of "Getting Started" with this team, Zonker, what "slots", if you will, are you looking to fill in terms of contributions by us? What are some immediate tasks that need to be fulfilled that we can do right here from the comfort of our openSUSE-powered computers?
Well, with an opening like that, how could I resist? A couple of tasks that need immediate attention have already been mentioned: * Sneak Peeks: http://en.opensuse.org/Sneak_Peeks <- still need volunteers to write some of these. * Screencasts: http://en.opensuse.org/Screencasts (A howto guide on creating screencasts might not be a bad idea...) Longer term -- I am hoping that the marketing team can take the lead in working on community announcements, helping to coordinate openSUSE booths at local events like LugRadio Live UK where we might not have an "official" presence, and also conceive and coordinate community marketing campaigns. For example, the GNOME folks are having a openSUSE-GNOME Bug day -- they've already sent out an announcement to the list, but the marketing team might be able to find ways to promote that outside the list. And, of course, I am confident that the marketing team members will come up with new ideas and ways to promote openSUSE than I would think of on my own. :-) That's open source in action, right?
