Translation of manuals is an expensive effort. On manual side I'd like to see our manuals available in book stores with a DVD insert (but no installation support). Hello, and thanks for the informations. I'm glad to learn that translation efforts were done in the past which helps understand why it's hard to have new ones. Is the goal to sell more ? Immediately ? I was thinking that 1st of all making known the distribution more (with a completely translated manual) could be a tool which might bring selling more at the end, but not for sure of course. And yes we all know it might be pretty complicated to raise up a good and involved translation team. It needs a team of available, willing and skilled people ... But is this feasable ? Or is it not worth it ? I mean the community might be able to supply for plenty of skillful people.
2- know clearly what is done with the money when we buy an openSuse box.
This or similar might come in the future. Currently the income through retail box goes into Novell's pocket and they support the openSUSE project. What I can tell from today the income through retail box is way less than what's Novell is giving to the project.
Oftentimes people will not buy if they do not know where the money goes , so this is important and Good to know :-)
