In 11.3 the codename was "Teal" in 11.2 "Emerald". Maybe we can change the codename to the names of animals, who are threatened with extinction. As an example: openSUSE 12.0 "Narwhal" (Okay, a little bit Ubuntu copy in this case, but I simply don´t know such an animal, and I´m too lazy to search ;)
I appreciate the sentiment, but I'm afraid I hate this idea with a passion.
Let's just make the numbering systems align, keeping them short and sane.
Currently the developers (more specifically the release team & some ppl around it) come up with a name. Let them keep doing that, I see no harm in it - usually it's funny or geeky or just "whatever". Feel free to mail coolo with suggestions, however ;-)
