I agree with Vavai. And as I previously posted, the translated issues are not for the people who can read English with no difficulty. They don't need to wait for completion of translating. So, the Main/en issue should be launched on schedule, without waiting for delayed translations.
Ok, i agree - we just need a nice solution for the links and the announcement. a) something like "The openSUSE Weekly Newsletter is regularly translated to ...." (and don't care about the status) b) a wiki page linking to the latest issues for all $LANG
Proposals from Vavai and Christian in mind, I gave it a try to make another "ready table" as a material for further discussion on my User talk page. http://en.opensuse.org/User_talk:HeliosReds
I know it's not good-looking because it's too large in width to display in a browser window. But I think it's necessary to add numbers in each column. Otherwise, we will be easily confused where to fill the flags while editing the table, won't we ?
Its a good idea, just the editors view is imho less obvious than my ascii-art ;). Added your proposal to the others at the bottom of the ready-page so we can evaluate.
Full / Light - I liked the Hungarian Template and the Idea of an "light" version - if there's not much time or man-power. - Thats ok IMHO, we just need to do some polishing and rules to make it equal across languages.
Light weekly news is a good idea and it's much easy to translate this into blog post. We should encourage people to spread the weekly news around blogosphere, isn't it ?
Indeed. It is better than nothing ! And I hope this alternative will help making it much easier to start translating for untranslated languages.
Full ack.
I've also in mind to rework the main template: some graphics as in the "light" template or perhaps some pics.
Icons and pics are good idea to make the newsletter more visual and attractive. Additionally, how about a logo for the newsletter ? The logo that I imagine is something like the attachment. Note: It's just a draft and not polished yet. ;-)
