We could and should make some noise about openSUSE being the first distro to ship libreoffice!
Right ! :-)
The LibreOffice packages, based on the final sources, are currently available in the http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/LibreOffice:/Unstable/ Also I have submitted them into openSUSE:Factory for the next 11.4 milestone. I do not see them public in this repo now. I am going to put the packages into LibreOffice:Stable project the following week. I still have to make sure that the update is smooth and that it works with all other packages (dictionaries, LanguageTool).
Whoever feels like taking this on could use some of the info in this excellent LWN article: http://lwn.net/SubscriberLink/424587/28ed0c5f7b1de95e/
Heh - well, and the new features page which is perhaps more flattering; but ... ;-)
and I'm sure Master Meeks is willing to provide us with a juicy quote too, maybe even some further insights in what libreoffice will bring to openSUSE 11.4!!!
Indeed - though, personally I'd love to see Petr show-cased in whatever press we do: he is the backbone of the LibreOffice packaging effort in openSUSE and does all the hard work, so I'd prefer him to get the glory.
Perhaps an interview format with him would make sense that stresses this point.
I feel delighted. On the other hand, Michael has much better skills for such thins. I would feel perfectly fine if I stay in background ;-) Best Regards, Petr PS: I am sorry. I am leaving for some skying within 2 hours. I will be back on Monday. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
