---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Linux Expo of SoCal<scale-announce@socallinuxexpo.org> Date: 2011/5/13 Subject: Linux Expo to Sponsor Software Freedom Day Activities To: valverde.izabel@gmail.com
The Linux Expo of Southern California, parent organization of the popular Southern California Linux Expo, announced today that it will sponsor events during the observation of Software Freedom Day 2011, to be held Sept. 17, 2011.
By doing so, the Linux Expo expands its efforts to popularize the use of Free and Open Source Software beyond the Southern California Linux Expo, which is held annually in February.
The Linux Expo will accept proposals from Southern California groups for events observing Software Freedom Day, and will issue five grants of up to $500 each to support each event. The funding may be used for space rental, media duplication, printing costs or other expenses related to their event.
Groups from San Luis Obispo County south to the California-Mexico border, and from the Pacific Ocean east to the California-Nevada border, are encouraged to apply.
Interested groups can send their proposals to press@socallinuxexpo.org. All proposals must be received by July 31, 2011. That is interesting. Don't really have many ideas though.
