SCIM-UIM-Anthy in OOo1.1.3
Guten Tag, I am writing Japanese with SCIM-UIM-Anthy in OOo1.1.3. When I try to extend/retreat the segment(active range) with Shift + right/left arrow, it does not work and the Shift key works as determine key instead. This bug is not original but begun some time after start using OOo. And only found in OOo. After reinstalling scim-related rpms, it had solved. But it begun again after several days. This time, I uninstalled scim-related rpms and .scim folder, and reinstalled rpms from "ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/m17n/9.2/i586/". Unfortunatelly, the new rpms have not solved the bug. Since OOo is very important software, this bug should not be seen in 9.3. Does someone know how to solve this bug? Haruyuki FUJIMAKI Tsukuba, Japan

I can reproduce this problem, but only when using OOo with the Gnome theme. Do you use Gnome?

I can reproduce it always. There Gnome theme for OOo was still quite buggy in SuSE Linux 9.2 as far as CJK input is concerned. A workaround is not to use the Gnome theme for OOo: export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=none Does this help for you? -- Mike FABIAN <mfabian@suse.de> http://www.suse.de/~mfabian 睡眠不足はいい仕事の敵だ。
Thank you for your response, Mike.

No. I use default KDE.
A workaround is not to use the Gnome theme for OOo:
export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=none

Unfortunately, no effect. I even do not know my OOo is under Gnome theme. My OOo is just default of 9.2_KDE, but the save dialog seems Gnome's one. Any other solution? Haruyuki Fujimaki Tuskuba, Japan
After uninstalling a package, OpenOffice_org-gnome, the problem has been solved. Regardless of OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP value, the default OOo in 9.2 is under Gnome theme, because the save dialog is now original(OOo's) one. Thanks, Mike. Haruyuki Fujimaki Tuskuba, Japan

Ah, that's easier than using the environment variable.

I don't understand why the environment variable had no effect though because I also tested this on 9.2. Anyway, uninstalling OpenOffice_org-gnome is probably the best solution. -- Mike FABIAN <mfabian@suse.de> http://www.suse.de/~mfabian 睡眠不足はいい仕事の敵だ。
