xcin zh_CN broken on SuSE 8.2->9.0 upgrade
Upon upgrading my SuSE 8.2 systems to 9.0, xcin stopped working with konsole and rxvt. I deleted (moved) my user .xim and .xcinrc files so the system defaults in /etc would be used. In my .cshrc, I set LC_CTYPE to zh_CN. When starting X, the xcin entry window appears. I can enter Chinese in konqueror, kmail, and vi (in a konsole). However, I can't enter Chinese in konsole or rxvt (which I could do under SuSE 8.2). The pinyin composer window pops up and I enter the appropriate string. However, when a character should appear in rxvt/konsole, nothing appears. I was concerned that this could be caused by a font problem. However, I'm using an Arphic font in rxvt and GB2312 files display correctly in rxvt and konsole. I'm not sure what to do next. Environment: SuSE 9.0 updated and patched to current supported system xcin-2.5.3.pre2-343 Athlon processor Thanks, -Robert Dick-
