Hi An improved version of my Chinese dictionary tool is now available for download from www.friedrich-dimmling.de/~kcdict . The main improvements are due to the incorporation of data from the Unihan database provided by the Unicode consortium. (Many thanks to Jörg Bibiko, Munich who provided me with his extract from Unihan.txt). Now 20902 Chinese characters can be identified by radical and stroke count, simplified and traditional variants of a character are displayed and - for the vast majority of characters - Mandarin and Cantonese pronounciation. Since the prograam was developed using KDE3.0.5 (SuSE8.1), users of later versions (KDE3.1.x) should consult the known problems section for the very few additional steps to perform on compiling the sources. Have a lot of fun! Friedrich -- Friedrich Dimmling Berlin, Germany www.friedrich-dimmling.de
