Does this screen shot look OK?: http://www.suse.de/~mfabian/m17n/firefox-tamil.png No Mike. In Tamil (say, in our CTL), when the vowels and consonants are combined the take different positions. If you permit, I will include the screen shot from Konqueror. Otherwise, please visit the same page with Konqueror then you will notice the difference yourself.
Looks like this: http://www.suse.de/~mfabian/m17n/konqueror-tamil.png Konqueror also seems broken for Indian languages in other ways, it shows question marks in some places where Mozilla and MozillaFirefox display Indian characters. On top of that, I cannot choose the font for this page in Konqueror, No matter how I change the font settings, konqueror always seems to use the same fonts. But the texts which *are* displayed by Konqueror may be correct. If I cut and paste some Tamil texts from Firefox displaying http://www.google.co.in/ into gedit, gedit displays them the same way as Konqueror. The question is why gedit can display it and Mozilla/Firefox cannot although both are linked against Pango.
Or is it necessary the linkage with pango works only in Gnome desktop?
