Re: [m17n] AdobeReader crashes on SUSE 10.0 RC1 i386
Hi, try export GTK_IM_MODULE=xim before starting acroread. Regards James Su Satoru Matsumoto wrote:
I got AdobeReader_jpn-7.0.1-1.i386.rpm from Adobe site and installed in my 'SUSE 10.0 RC1 i386' box.
But, when I want to start acroread, it crashes by segfault.
Since the strace log is too large to attach, I put it on my server. http://61.26.3.112:30080/~helios/error_reports/AdobeReader_strace.txt
Is there anyone who can explain why AdobeReader crashes?
On my 'SUSE 10.0 RC1 x86_64' box, it seems everything fine. There was no need to install additional Japanese font packages in order to display Japanese PDF files.
Thanks.
Great! It works! James Su wrote:

I made ~/bin/acroread as follows. #!/bin/sh export GTK_IM_MODULE=xim /usr/local/bin/acroread Then, I can start AdobeReader. Thank you for your suggestion, Mr.Su! But still I have a problem. As a Firefox plugin, it doesn't work well. When I open PDF files by Firefox, It stands up another window of AdobeReader (not in the browser window) and displays nothing. Of cource, there is a nppdf.so in Firefox plugin directory. Is there anyone who has an idea? -- □●□ _/_/_/ To be Happy! _/_/_/ □□● _/_/ Satoru Matsumoto _/_/ ●●● _/ helios_reds@gmx.net _/
