Chinese characters not appearing correctly in Macromedia Flash Player browser Plugin
I have a nearly-complete Chinese environment in SuSE 7.3 with KDE3 by now, except some minor issues. I found that when viewing a web page with macromedia flash animations CJK text embedded in these animations are still in garbage. I also experience similar problems when viewing a Java applet displaying CJK characters in them. ?????? are shown instead. I guess the flash plugin is an X application, but I'm not sure about that. CJK display seems to fail on nearly all X apps on my system, including xemacs. Is there any way to get CJK displayed correctly in them? The LC_CTYPE is already zh_TW.Big5 This is the font path from "xset q" and I'm not sure if it would be useful: Font Path: /opt/kde3/share/fonts/override,/home/khchan2/.kde3/share/fonts/override, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/local, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc:unscaled,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/URW, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/kwintv, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/uni, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/sgi, /home/khchan2/.kde3/share/fonts,/opt/kde3/share/fonts Thanks very much. Can you give an example URL where you see this?

XEmacs certainly can display CJK. Can you please describe the problem you have with XEmacs in more detail?
The LC_CTYPE is already zh_TW.Big5 This is the font path from "xset q" and I'm not sure if it would be useful:
Font Path: /opt/kde3/share/fonts/override,/home/khchan2/.kde3/share/fonts/override, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/local, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc:unscaled,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/URW, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/kwintv, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/uni, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/sgi, /home/khchan2/.kde3/share/fonts,/opt/kde3/share/fonts
Looks OK.
