Re: [m17n] 8.2 language coverage?
Wouldn't be more elegant if SuSE had a special page on it's site for that purpose? So everyone could see the current translation status. I have seen that other major distros already provide that feature. Cheers.

Does anyone have an info or where to look for, on the list of languages 8.2 supports and list of languages which translations available?
On the page
http://www.suse.de/de/private/products/suse_linux/i386/packages_professional...
there is a list of all packages contained in SuSE Linux 8.2.
The packages with name "yast2-trans-??" contain translations for the language ?? for YaST2. I.e. yast q translations are available in
bg Bulgarian bs Bosnian cs Czech da Danish de German el_GR Greek en_GB British en_US American es Spanish fr French hu Hungarian it Italian ja Japanese ko Korean lt Lithuanian nl Dutch pt_BR Translations ru Russian sk Slovak sl_SI Slovene sv Swedish tr Turkish zh_CN simplified Chinese zh_TW traditional Chinese
Unfortunately one cannot see here how complete these translations are.
The degree of completeness varies a lot.
I know that Japanese and Korean are almost complete and that simplified Chinese is also quite good. Traditional Chinese is extremely incomplete, probably less than 1% translated.
I guess most of the others are more or less complete, but I don't now for sure.
You can also see which KDE translations are available by searching for kde3-i18n-?? packages on that page.

Yes, but somebody must do the work to setup stuff like this. The day has only 24 hours. -- Mike Fabian <mfabian@suse.de> http://www.suse.de/~mfabian 睡眠不足はいい仕事の敵だ。
