Hi, I try to set up Latex for direct typesetting of Hindi text. I found a description of waht to do here: http://www.tug.org/pipermail/macostex-archives/2004-July/006909.html However, the command ttf2tfm tituscbz.ttf -w tituscbz at Unicode@ failed. I think the options of ttf2tfm changed. As there were very convenient tools for Chinese in the suse distribution, I wonder whether there are any tools for Hindi. If not, does anybody know of a more up to date description of the Hindi-Fonts? Hi,
I try to set up Latex for direct typesetting of Hindi text.
I found a description of waht to do here:
http://www.tug.org/pipermail/macostex-archives/2004-July/006909.html
However, the command ttf2tfm tituscbz.ttf -w tituscbz at Unicode@ failed. I think the options of ttf2tfm changed.
It looks like the '@' was replaced by 'at' on the above page automatically because the original command looked like an e-mail address. and the option '-w' doesn't seem to exist either. Have a look at http://lists.suse.de/archive/m17n/2003-Nov/0023.html this mail described how to do it with the CODE2000 font for Ethiopic. It probably works the same wath with the TITUSCBZ.ttf font for Hindi. By the way, the CODE2000 font also seems to support Hindi: mfabian@magellan:~$ fc-list "CODE2000" lang :lang=aa|ab|af|am|ar|ast|ava|ay|az|az-ir|ba|bam|be|bg|bh|bho|bi|bin|bn|br|bs|bua|ca|ce|ch|chm|chr|co|cs|cu|cv|cy|da|de|el|en|eo|es|et|eu|fa|fi|fj|fo|fr|ful|fur|fy|ga|gd|gez|gl|gn|gu|gv|ha|haw|he|hi|ho|hr|hu|hy|ia|ibo|id|ie|ik|io|is|it|iu|ja|ka|kaa|ki|kk|kl|km|kn|ko|kok|ks|ku|ku-ir|kum|kv|kw|ky|la|lb|lez|lo|lt|lv|mg|mh|mi|mk|ml|mn|mo|mr|mt|my|nb|nds|ne|nl|nn|no|ny|oc|om|or|os|pa|pl|ps-af|ps-pk|pt|rm|ro|ru|sa|sah|sco|se|sel|sh|sk|sl|sm|sma|smj|smn|sms|so|sq|sr|sv|sw|ta|te|tg|th|tig|tk|tn|to|tr|ts|tt|tw|tyv|ug|uk|ur|uz|ven|vi|vo|vot|wa|wen|wo|xh|yap|yi|yo|zh-cn|zh-mo|zh-sg|zh-tw|zu mfabian@magellan:~$ You can get the CODE2000 font from: http://home.att.net/~jameskass/
As there were very convenient tools for Chinese in the suse distribution, I wonder whether there are any tools for Hindi.
If not, does anybody know of a more up to date description of the Hindi-Fonts?
