I have installed from SuSE V9 on my Laptop. If I try to u se canna to write japanes, I can enter into the japanes mode but there is no conversion to kanji (just hiragana in gvim e.g.). I did: LANG=ja_JP kinput2 -xim -kinput -canna & (the a message appears which I cannot read: €«€ÊŽÁ»úÊÑŽ¹¥µ¡Œ¥Ð€ÈÄÌ¿®€Ç€­€Þ€»€ó ts Warning: XimpProtocol: SelectionClear event received neWarning: KinputProtocol: SelectionClear event received ) If I then start gvim with LC_CTYPE=ja_JP.UTF-8 XMODIFIERS="@im=kinput2" gvim I can go to Japanes mode (shift-space) but not to kanji input with the space-key (messages telle that something is not available).
