SCIM not OK? 9.1 Pro New installion

Hi, I just install my brand new SuSE 9.1 Pro on my computer, and SCIM not working. I already tried to put KDE locale to Chinese, but SCIM also not working. My question: 1. Can I have english locale with Working chinese (simplified) input. 2.
