And yes ffmpegthumbs is enabled in the previews option, and other thumbnails do work just fine. one thing I noticed that when I installed mpv rpm version (just to test) video playback didnt work either....and I do have the openH264 installed. when I open an mp4 file with MPV I get "Failed to recognize file format." error and with mkv file I could get : "Failed to initialize a decoder for codec 'hevc'. Video: no video Failed to initialize a decoder for codec 'aac'. Audio: no audio No video or audio streams selected. " anyway, so I checked ffmpeg...and I notice that there was "ffmpeg-5-mini-libs" installed...so I installed the regular ffmpeg5 and that fixed it. so.
