Doesn't that make the promise not to worry about the OS kind of obsolete?
No, it doesn't. We give this promise only for our tested and verified open source packages, but Nvidia is a 3rd party closed source package not under our control.
I mean there are a lot Nvidia users out there - wheres the charm using Aeon when a core feature wont work.
Convince Nvidia to publish a real open source driver and your problems are solved. This is the disadvantage of buying hardware, which needs a closed source third party driver and requires the user to accept an EULA. If there is the choice between legal obligations and usability, legal obligations will always win. There is absolute no room for discussions here.
At least an initial option to make transactional-update automatically agreeing to a certain package should be considered imho.
Our code is open source, so you can modify the transactional-update.service to auto-agree to all EULAs. But it's then your own problem if you violate the EULA, no longer other peoples problem. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
