Patches would still need to be included in the huge kernel package with all it's special magic and processes though.
You send the backported patch, with the upstream commit id included, to stable@kernel.org. The rest of the process is handled by Greg :). Michal -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+help@opensuse.org

Or even easier, just add: Cc: stable <stable@kernel.org> to the signed-off-by: area of your patch, and when it is included in Linus's tree, it automatically gets sent to me and the other stable maintainers and included with no extra work for you at all. And our processes are one of the best documented ones around, with mini-books written about exactly what you need to do and how to do it. See Documentation/development_model/ for details and if you ever have any questions, you can always ask us. thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+help@opensuse.org
