[opensuse-kernel] build space ran out on one build, and can Kernel:stable be updated with kernel 3.7.5 patch
Hello, - I noticed this in the build log of [1] the x86_86 version build run out of space -resubmit ?? , the i586 succeeded. - Also v 3.7.5 patch is listed http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v3.0/patch-3.7.5.bz2. If it does, setting build constraints http://openbuildservice.org/help/manuals/obs-reference-guide/cha.obs.build_j... might help. Michal Kubeček -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

This happens on a regular basis. I have two KMP packages in my home project and they seldom build because always one of the kernel-devel-* packages is missing. -- Stefan Seyfried "If your lighter runs out of fluid or flint and stops making fire, and you can't be bothered to figure out about lighter fluid or flint, that is not Zippo's fault." -- bkw -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

Ping :-) this still seems to happen to 2-3 of the x86_64 builds in Kernel:Head very often. It's a shame having the buildservice build a kernel for more than 3 hours and then fail because of missing space... this build power could be put no more use :-) -- Stefan Seyfried "If your lighter runs out of fluid or flint and stops making fire, and you can't be bothered to figure out about lighter fluid or flint, that is not Zippo's fault." -- bkw -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

Isn't this why a _constraint file exist in the OBS to make sure packages are built only on large hosts ? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

I have been playing with the build constrains, unfortunately, the buildservice is rather overloaded these days (*). Nevertheless, I did two things: 1) Disable debuginfo for the kernels to reduce the space required 2) Set Constraint: hardware:size:disk unit=G 4 Constraint: hardware:processors 8 in the project config. Let's see what it does when the buildservice returns back to normal. (*) I am not saying that these guys alone are at fault, but I'm not sure why there must be 15 projects rebuilding all kernel packages all over: https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3A-miska-%3Avirtio https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Acodewarrior2008 https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Amichalstrnad%3Abranch... https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Asumski%3AKernel%3A12.... https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3AopenSUSE_user1%3Abran... https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Apontostroy%3Adrm-next https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Akrab_mozga%3Abranches... https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Arwth-afu https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Aelvigia%3Abranches%3A... https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Ak0da%3Abranches%3Aope... https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Avitezslav_cizek%3Abra... https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Arwth-afu%3Abranches%3... https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Adlovasko%3Abranches%3... https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3AHerbster0815 https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3ADimorphus%3Abranches%... Hm, I have 'Constraint: hardware:processors 8' in the prjconf of Kernel:HEAD, yet kernel-debug is building with make -j2 now. Any suggestions are appreciated. The ENOSPC are likely worked around by disabling debuginfo, but the build constrains do not seem to work.
