Re: [opensuse-kernel] Kernel 2.6.34-rc2 hangs on one of three systems
Status update: I installed recent kernel-vanilla yesterday first time and it has runned without any problems for over 24 hours now. Only openSUSE patched kernel flavors have problems ... There are some funny things going on with the openSUSE kernels in the repos. The p54usb driver in the 2.6.33-6-desktop kernel in the Factory repo does not work in 11.3 M4 installations (both i586 and x86_64) or if that kernel is installed on an x86_64 11.2 system. Other USB wireless devices work, as does a PCIe device. If I download the patched source from openSUSE and build it myself using the openSUSE configuration, it works with all wireless devices. That is true whether it is compiled with gcc 4.4 on 11.2 or gcc 4.5 on 11.3 M4.
