[opensuse-kernel] Quickcam-kmp obsolete, but maybe still needed
The drivers that are provided from the quickcam-kmp-* package is now ported to v4l2 Quote mail from debian list http://groups.google.com/group/linux.debian.bugs.dist/browse_thread/thread/9... linux-2.6.29 provides the gspca_stv06xx driver, a port to v4l2 of qc-usb which should support all the cameras supported by qc-usb. ---------- I've tested the driver with my cam, and it seems quite functional, however I see that some desktop apps does not yet function with the new in kernel driver. I.e ekiga + gstreamer. This is however bugs in those aps I guess, and should probably not be taken into account. + from what I read in the above link, qc-usb is not developed anymore, so I guess removing that package will ease the burden on you kernelmaintainers. Extra info: Vlc streams the cam fine + the gspca "webcam-test" program works fine. Should I put in a bug to have the package removed/obsoleted, or does anyone object to have the package removed?
