[opensuse-kernel] usb-modeswitch, how to activate?
Hi, I am trying to install a Huawei e173 3G Modem in open SUSE 12.2, on an eee-pc 901. Unfortunately it is not recognized. There is a simcard in it that is recognized on the other os.(W7) And also the 'CD' part, where the data is flashed, is recognized on the other os, and can be accessed and manipulated. The modem is unlocked, and the firmware is updated. In open suse only the small SD card is recognized and accessible. I tried to install the drivers but i got this message:

Just one (4) more question(s): (but it is actually the same question: why does the modem not connect?) (My Ghanan datasim does not work here ofcourse...but,) If a simcard is not activated for data, but phone, it will not connect, and get no ip-adress? But, the modem, does it get no mac address when the sim card is not activated? Because no mac address is shown. Do i need no extra drivers for the modem? Yeah sure... It turned out that when i looked in the part that was installed, the drivers were only valid until 11.2. Which is way different from 12.2. in architecture. I could only check that after installing.. Besides that, from 12.1 the firmware is/can be in the kernel-modules now, so it works hotplug from NM now. At this time, my only problem is the activation of the simcard(s). I will buy an international simcard in the airplane next week, saves me a lot of fuss.
