[opensuse-kernel] Elantech touchpad v3/v4 driver support
Hi; Looks like Elantech touchpad v3/v4 hardware driver is accepted to upstream for 3.2 kernel, see https://lkml.org/lkml/2011/9/4/112 . This would be really nice to get in for 12.1 because it actually affects some users, see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=716852 Regards. -- İsmail Dönmez - openSUSE Booster SUSE LINUX Products GmbH Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

That would be nice, could someone break those patches out into a series that will apply and build properly on the 3.1 kernel? thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
I'm the originator of that bug, which means I can test the patches when they show up! How hard would it be for me to put a vanilla 3.2 kernel onto a machine that's on 12.1 RC1? On Thu, Oct 20, 2011 at 10:59 AM, Greg KH <gregkh@suse.de> wrote:

A: No. Q: Should I include quotations after my reply? http://daringfireball.net/2007/07/on_top On Fri, Oct 21, 2011 at 08:45:34PM -0700, M. Edward (Ed) Borasky wrote:

Pretty hard to do that right now, given that there is no such thing as a 3.2 kernel as 3.1 hasn't even been released yet :) greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

I added the relevant patches as series to patches.drivers.tar.bz2 and updated series.conf. Tested on my Dell laptop and it fixes detection of touchpad. Do you want a gitorious merge request or OBS SR is fine? How about a git format-patch output sent by email? thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
