[opensuse-kernel] USB changes in the kernel that broke sane-backends?
Hi, After switching to 42.2 I needed to use my scanner again. Blew the dust off and found it not working :-( Thought it broke in the shelve but fortunately I still had 13.2 on a separate partition where I knew it worked last time. And indeed it still works with 13.2. Both 13.2 and 42.2 have the same sane-backends version. Quick tests with minimal chroots of 13.2 and 42.2 indicate that the kernel makes the difference. Looks like various people reported similar issues over the last two years. Upstream tried to change some code but at least in my case nothing helps. This bug reports has collected quite some information and links: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=897855 Does anyone remember if there were some changes in the kernel USB handling that could break the sane-backends genesys driver in such a way? cu Ludwig -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ V_/_ http://www.suse.com/ SUSE Linux GmbH, GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
