[opensuse-kernel] purpose of /lib/firmware/Makefile
What is the purpose of /lib/firmware/Makefile, who is supposed to use it? With recent changes "the kernel" suddenly relies on python3, at least when doing "zypper dup --from kotd". I guess both /lib/firmware/Makefile and /lib/firmware/check_whence.py can be removed, or at least moved out of kernel-firmware.rpm. Thanks. Olaf

Well, if it worked you could check the firmware installation against the WHENCE file. As it is the WHENCE file is installed in different directory from the firmware and the makefile so it does not look useful. Thanks Michal
