[opensuse-kernel] Has anyone successfully compiled in opensuse build service the Linux kernel version 2.6.35.x
Hello, Has anyone successfully compiled in opensuse build service the Linux kernel version 2.6.35.x , or do you know of anyone who has done so ? Have you a link to that project ?. If there is none could I use this .spec file [1] and alter the lines{see below} and do you think that would compile ? from %define srcversion 2.6.34 %define patchversion 2.6.34 %define variant %{nil} to %define srcversion 2.6.35.4 %define patchversion 2.6.35.4 %define variant %{nil} Thanks Glenn Spec file[1]-> https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file?file=kernel-vanilla.spec&package=kernel-source&project=openSUSE%3A11.3&srcmd5=5b576bef2530771c2bc55ece7f6cdb2e -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+help@opensuse.org

Again, for probably the 5th time, the spec files are designed to patch in the -stable patch series instead of using the tarball directly. AFAIK, nobody is interested in changing them to support that as it's not something we, as a project, _ever_ want to do. If you really feel that this is something you _must_ do, then you might have better luck using the specfiles from gitorious and editing them there. As an aside, your time may be better spent migrating your data off of reiser4. -Jeff

Thanks Glenn
