[opensuse-kernel] [ARM] enable zcache
Hi, this enables zcache in the config for ARM, as it could be useful there (memory pressure is often high). Thanks, Dirk

Really? Has it shown any real benefit there? I ask as the code is still under lots of churn and arguments from the developers upstream. thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, we have currently only boards with 1GB RAM at most, and swapping performance is horrible (not more than 10MB/s). memory compression can only help here, but I haven't done any measurements yet. So far I've disabled swapping on most build hosts as swapping performance is absolutely horrible (the machine appears dead for all practical matters).

Well, as it is enabled for x86_64 I figured it should be okay to enable it for ARM as well. Greetings, Dirk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
