[opensuse-kernel] Re: [opensuse-arm] Re: no HDMI on openSUSE-13.1-ARM-JeOS-beaglebone.armv7l-1.12.1-Build38.9.raw.xz
Hi, I am on business trip now, so my bbb is not reachable. But I see that the following 13.2 image seems to have proper kernel: http://download.opensuse.org/ports/armv7hl/distribution/13.2/appliances/open... Could you check please, that it boots at least? 2014-10-22 11:08 GMT+04:00 <lists@lazygranch.com>:
I can't do much beyond testing. Is there a 13.2 you would like tested?

Hm
I have not tested zypper update. /boot/initrd file is missed in your system, that is the problem. The question is why it is missed.
2014-10-21 14:42 GMT+04:00 lists <lists@lazygranch.com>:
As I suspected /sbin/reboot and systemctl reboot are identical, so that was not the problem.

It looks like you got auto corrected.
In my case, I entered reboot and it just sat there. So are saying I should enter systemctl reboot ?
Please, use the following for the reference: http://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/systemctl.html
I'm not trying to be argumentative. I just want to know exactly what to test before I reload the OS.

systemctl reboot does the things

Are you issuing the reboot command?
In my case it never rebooted.

You said that the system did not boot. So I checked. It boots for me. There is difference between the first and the sequential boots, so I checked that it was able to reboot successfully.
HDMI is not related here.
2014-10-18 20:51 GMT+04:00 <lists@lazygranch.com>:
I wrote over the SDHC with a different disty, though I can load opensuse again. But before I do that, I want to be clear what I'm supposed to document.
First I presume this is just with the image, that is, don't upgrade.
So the idea is if I boot twice, the HDMI returns?
So the plan is to load the image, use the ncurses installer, and save whatever is dumped via the serial port while it boots. Then do I use the reboot command? Or do I hit the reset button. Assuming it boots, I then save the serial port dump.
Sorry for the top post, but I'm on a smartphone.

Hi
openSUSE-13.1-ARM-JeOS-beaglebone.armv7l-1.12.1-Build38.9.raw
second-boots fine, just checked. Could you show full log of the first boot?
