Unfortunately, a last minute change broke md. https://lkml.org/lkml/2020/12/14/7 It would be nice to revert 6ffeb1c3f82 in order to not suffer from {not mountable, non booting} md setups. 5.10.1 will almost certainly also contain such a revert.
