[opensuse-kernel] any way to get more debugging output from installation kernel?
Hi- I have been trying to install opensuse Factory to an Xserve G5, both via serial console and via 'usessh=1'. Both of theses methods hang early in the boot. The serial console install hangs just after the "rtas_flash: no firmware flash support" line: . . . smp_core99_probe smp_core99_kick_cpu smp_core99_kick_cpu done core99_setup_cpu 0 done SuSE Linux #1 SMP 2007/11/21 23:00:03 UTC [ 1.253833] rtas_flash: no firmware flash support The 'usessh=1' attempt hangs just after the "#1 SMP 2007..." line, so the "rtas_flash" line does not print. FYI, the last attempt was with kernel 2.6.24-rc2-git6-6-ppc64. Are there any other parameters I can pass to the kernel to figure out where this hang is occuring? I currently pass both debug and y2debug. Are there any other ways I can figure out what is going on here? FYI, I have installed factory to this system before without difficulty.
