[opensuse-kernel] cleancache and zcache not working
Hi: I cannot figure out how to enable zcache. first there is no /sys/kernel/mm/cleancache even though the -desktop kernel has CONFIG_CLEANCACHE=y .. modprobe'ing zcache or adding it to the initrd only causes the usual disclaimer to be shown, telling you that it is in the stagging directory.. How I can really use it ? cheers. ! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

I see that this sysfs part was axed on purpose(?) by openSUSE Xen patches... (why is it crippled? ) using kernel vanilla makes it show up again. However adding zcache to the initrd and booting with parameter "zcache" still does nothing. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

Assuming you talk about master - if you read the header of the respective patch (patches.xen/cleancache-update), you would probably have understood that this is to follow what is proposed for mainline as well (to keep cleancache consistent with frontwap).
