[opensuse-kernel] dangling snapshot with btrfs
Hi, while exploring the issues of lost space on my main workstation, I stumbled upon this: ws:~# l /.snapshots/ drwxr-x--- 1 root root 40 2. Okt 20:56 ./ drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 238 30. Sep 11:44 ../ drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 66 12. Jun 17:58 964/ -rw-r----- 1 root root 290 2. Okt 20:56 grub-snapshot.cfg ws:/# du -sh /.snapshots/ 31G /.snapshots/ ws:~# snapper list Type | # | Pre # | Date | User | Cleanup | Description | Userdata -------+---+-------+------+------+---------+-------------+--------- single | 0 | | | root | | current | As you can see, there's a dangling snapshot #964, that I don't know how to get rid of. Usually, the numbers in .snapshots correspond with some items in snappers list, but not here. ws:~# uname -a Linux ws 4.1.6-4-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Aug 28 10:59:34 UTC 2015 (d867e86) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux System is a openSUSE 13.2/x86_64 with a kernel from factory (before moving to 4.2). Will switch to 4.2.1 now, but I guess, this isn't the culprit. Any idea, how to resolve this? AFAIK snapper ignores directories that lack the file describing the metadata about the snapshot, /.snapshots/964/info.xml .

You can always use the bare 'btrfs' commands to remove the snapshots: btrfs subvolume delete /.snapshots/964/snapshot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
