[opensuse-kernel] netconsole problem with latest kernel
Hi, in order to send a bug report for a kms issue with i915, I need to use netconsole to capture the dmesg output before my machine freeze. With 13.1 and stock 3.11.6 kernel I make it work in this way: echo Y >/sys/module/printk/parameters/ignore_loglevel modprobe netconsole netconsole=<local port>@/<local network interface>,@<remote host ip>/ on the remote host I open udp port 6666 in the firewall and run: netcat -u -l 6666 Unfortunately this fails with stable kernel 3.12.6 or lastest kernel 3.13.rc7. The netconsole module is loaded normally but I don't get any output on the remote host. Do you know how to make netconsole work with the latest kernel? After reading this message (http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.network/288373) I realized that netconsole does not work only with the bridge interface (which I was using). Switching to a standard network interface fixes the problem.
