[opensuse-kernel] Kernel Problem with new Hardware
Hello, I have a new Asus Board P9D WS with the new xeon E3-1275v3 and Chipset Intel C226. Is the kernel for oS 12.3 running with this hardware? I have a big Problem with the intern Graphic and USB Maus / Keyboard Grub have no Problem to find the Mouse / Keyboard, in the oS I have to remove the USB Connector wait and insert the USB Connecter afterward I have a Mouse / Keyboard again. If it is possible to found the correct Graphic (KVM) driver? -- mit freundlichen Grüßen / best Regards, Günther J. Hi, try Kernel:HEAD zypper ar -f -r http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/standard/Kernel:HEAD.... zypper dup --from Kernel_HEAD -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
Hello Cristian, Thanks for the answer, I will test it next weekend. Am Mittwoch, 31. Juli 2013, 21:36:57 schrieb Cristian Rodríguez:

The kernel is working with the new Graphic, BUT with this kernel my workaround is no longer working I have NO Mouse / Keyboard (Logitech wireless) with a PS2 Mouse it is working, I have in the Moment no PS2 Keyboard but I mean I have a USB Cable Keyboard I will probe to configure this Problem ? Have you any Idea why this is not working with this Chipset ?

No, no workaround Günther should be needed, please file a bug report so the issue with your hardware is fixed ASAP. As I see it (I might be wrong) it is unlikely that this is a problem in the logitech driver but more of a problem in your USB controller driver. Attach to the bug report the output of "journalctl -b" and "hwinfo" so kernel devs can check what the hell is going on there. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

Long time ago before 3.1 some of us was forced to have module hid-logitech-dj loaded at boot ( declared in /etc/sysconfig/kernel) so it was included by mkinitrd. Günther also check what modules are loaded before and after you plug the usb dongle -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

Yesterday I have time to check the System with a PS2/Keyboard and a USB Cable Mouse this is working. Afterward I installed the last Kernel from HEAD (RC6) with this the Logitech mouse / keyboard is working again. But the Problem is booting, some time the system is booting sometime not, The KDE DVD M4 is not booting (no file system found) -- mit freundlichen Grüßen / best Regards, Günther J. OK, do you use LVM/RAID or something similar ? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

Yes we use Raid1 with 2 SSD, but with a Hardware Raid Controller LSI 9271-i8 -- mit freundlichen Grüßen / best Regards, Günther J. Niederwimmer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
