Hi,
I am trying to install a Huawei e173 3G Modem in open SUSE 12.2, on an eee-pc 901. Unfortunately it is not recognized. I believe you are in the wrong route.. First, try updating your kernel from Kernel:HEAD repository and see if the device is shown.
After that tell us what "hwinfo" says about it and post kernel messages if any.
In hwinfo the device is now listed. It does not show in: usb on desktop. Mobile Partner seems to recognise it now, as it starts the interface when i 'hot'plug it in.
No Kernelmessages....
Kind Regards.
