Basically that's same for KMP; it just a matter of configuration you may set in the spec file (or the rpm macro provided in the project).
Admittedly DKMS has many advantages, yes. But it's no silver bullet for all problems at all, either.

Yes, but the user needs to know how to do all of these things. With DKMS, it's a pretty much "just works" solution.
