Hi, got some 4T SSDs few days ago and had trouble to get them to work. For now they're NO-NCQ'd in kernel start parameters, but as I've seen in actual kernel source 4.18.7 they should do with full NCQ because the old entry "Samsung SSD 8*" isn't listed any more in libata !? Bug in kernel or controller or SSD or feature ? best regards, Peter P.S. with NCQ=32 logging is almost breakin down the system with tons of entries as: Sep 14 16:26:30 PefWS kernel: ata5.00: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0xfffffffb SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen Sep 14 16:26:30 PefWS kernel: ata5.00: irq_stat 0x08000000, interface fatal error Sep 14 16:26:30 PefWS kernel: ata5.00: failed command: WRITE FPDMA QUEUED Sep 14 16:26:30 PefWS kernel: ata5.00: cmd 61/40:00:00:13:d9/05:00:01:00:00/40 tag 0 ncq dma 688128 out res 40/00:20:00:80:d8/00:00:01:00:00/40 Emask 0x10 (ATA bus error) Sep 14 16:26:30 PefWS kernel: ata5.00: status: { DRDY } Sep 14 16:26:30 PefWS kernel: ata5.00: failed command: WRITE FPDMA QUEUED Sep 14 16:26:30 PefWS kernel: ata5.00: cmd 61/40:08:40:18:d9/05:00:01:00:00/40 tag 1 ncq dma 688128 out res 40/00:20:00:80:d8/00:00:01:00:00/40 Emask 0x10 (ATA bus error) Sep 14 16:26:30 PefWS kernel: ata5.00: status: { DRDY } Sep 14 16:26:30 PefWS kernel: ata5.00: failed command: WRITE FPDMA QUEUED -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
