Any chance we could backport rtl8187 fixes introduced on kernel 2.6.3.0 that fixes weak signal detection and bad performance?
Which specific patches are you referring to?
What git commit ids?
Digging a bit on linux-2.6.30.y.git I found these two commits:
- rtl8187: fix 8187B throughput regression commit 54ac218ae676931813169e0ca074aca2e4adee38
- rtl8187: Improve wireless statistics for RTL8187 commit a7db74f4be3835fd16c6c582d320f692ccccc622
Quoting commit eb83bbf57429ab80f49b413e3e44d3b19c3fdc5a message:
"After reports of poor performance, a review of the latest vendor driver (rtl8187_linux_26.1025.0328.2007) for RTL8187L devices was undertaken."
So I would say the possible fixes were introduced before that commit (just to help locating it)
Well, can you test this kind of thing out on a 2.6.27-based kernel to verify that it does or does not solve the issue? thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+help@opensuse.org
