Hi,
after the firmware split, it should be possible to just keep the selected set.
On /some/ systems, all FW packages are pulled with a kernel update from zypper dup.
Q is, why?
kernel-default.spec still contains "Recommends: kernel-firmware", and this corresponds to kernel-firmware-all package which is a meta package dragging all kernel-firmware-* subpackages. You can blacklist kernel-firmware and kernel-firmware-all via zypper addlock. % zypper rm kernel-firmware-all % zypper al kernel-firmware kernel-firmware-all Then uninstall unnecessary kernel-firmware-* subpackages.
