Hello,
is this a normal Log in the last Kernels?
ISO 9660 Extensions: Microsoft Joliet Level 3 ISO 9660 Extensions: RRIP_1991A
These messages are harmless I think. These are kernel debugging messages when extensions like Joliet and RockRidge (for unicodes, long filenames etc..) are supported and these message provide more info on what level the support is available.
These are the messages which are printed out each time a CD-ROM medium is found in the tray.
Ah, thanks for clarifying.
I have a lot of this in my Log files
Which would be an indicator that the CD-ROM polling is active here.
Günther: Do you have a CD-ROM medium placed in the tray always? or do insert/remove that frequently as you see too many such messages? In the absence of it, wondering what could cause this..
NO, i have no CD ROM inside the CD Player? I have the problem with "normal 11.4 Kernel and with tumbleweed ? the Log is always; I have a bad big /etc/messages File
On a related note, it seems CD-ROM polling could be disabled by running
hal-disable-polling --device <device>
as root. You might want to see whether disabling is appropriate in your case.
