Hello, maybe some of you, kernel wizards, could help me: I'm just trying to get a Dell S300wi projector pointing device to function properly. Is a USB connected pointing device. I'll try to explain this strange behavior under openSUSE 12.1 RC1 and earlier ( 11.4 ) releases also: · When booting with kernel-default , the pointing device doesn't work, but after issuing this command as root: # rmmod usbhid && modprobe usbhid then it works ok. If I disconnect the usb cable from laptop and connect it again, it doesn't work anymore till I run rmmod & modprobe command again. · When booting with kernel-desktop, there is no "usbhid" module as I think they're compilen in kernel, so I have no way to make it work. I'm attaching the results of doing.... dmesg ls -l /dev/input ls -l /dev/input/by-id ls -l /dev/input/by-path lsusb -t lsusb -v /var/log/messages when plug ... in both kernels, before and after issuing the rmmod and modprobe commands. Maybe this info is useful for you. I've observed differences in how this device is managed. This device seems to publish a "mouse" device and a "keyb" device, don't know which function provides the latter. Seems the device is a Texas Instruments DDP2430, so is reported on dmesg. Is there a chance I can get this device working on my opensuse ? thanks in advance, Jordi.
