in the 2.6.27.13-9 kernel, the i915 still generates a lot of interrupts which eventually costs on a laptop valuable energy (up to 20% difference on my laptop at least) I heard in the thinpad forum that this is actually a bug and that it is fixed in 2.6.28.
However, it seems that in Ubuntu, the fix was propagated as a patch into 2.6.27 (intrepid-proposed, 2.6.27-11-generic x86_64?)
Is there any plan to propagate that change into the 2.6.27 suse kernel as well?
Do you have a pointer to the fix in question? Without that it's hard to tell. If the fix is simple enough then it should probably go in 2.6.27-stable and we get it from there. -- Jean Delvare Suse L3 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+help@opensuse.org
