After I installed the 2.6.29.51 kernel i had a perfomance slowdown of my system Quad 6600 The same slowdown as in all the 2.6.28.and 2.6.29.rc kernels compared to the stock-kernel opensuse 11.1
As i did with all the 29.rcX kernels: I moved the modules from /lib/modules/2.6.29-51-default/kernel/arch/x86/perfmon to a backup the same for ck804xrom.ko in /lib/modules/2.6.29-51-default/kernel/drivers/mtd/maps to a backup
Now the system is running at fullspeed without delays in internet and responce in kde4.2.1
So what are those modules as the kernel keeps running when they are gone.?
Does this slow down happen even with the latest 11.1 update? The 2.6.27.19 kernel has perfmon enabled as well. - -Jeff - -- Jeff Mahoney SUSE Labs -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAknLlnEACgkQLPWxlyuTD7JV2ACeNVhWGIOqX5EmTMobWyeW+7RY K/QAnjFfxxxC87Hy7YW1g81sXf9FmxZ+ =ryJh -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+help@opensuse.org
