The kernel-source rpms used to provide the configuration used by the SUSE kernels in arch/{i386,x86_64}/defconfig.* . These files are missing in kernel-source-2.6.27-rc8.HEAD_20080930174745. Is this caused by the intended new structure of SUSEs kernel packages and will be there any way to get this information without installing a binary kernel package ?
The config files are still in /usr/src/linux-obj/$arch/$flavor/.config, and if kernel-syms is installed, /lib/modules/$KERNELRELEASE/build/.config points there as well. Does this work for you?
