Have you looked? I think it's there already :)
And note, this only helps people who do a lot of work from the command line, like kernel builds. For "normal" desktop usage, nothing changes at all.

I must confess, I've not yet look, I just finish to stabilize nvidia proprio building and Xorg working with the 2.6.37-rc2 ...
